Cobalt Housing has paid tribute to a much-loved Liverpool councillor by naming a road after her in a new housing development.

Rose Bailey Close is named after the former Deputy Lord Mayor of Liverpool who died two years ago.

The new housing development consists of 36 new houses, bungalows and flats for rent and shared ownership in Croxteth, Liverpool.

Cllr Bailey was passionate about Croxteth and represented the ward for 14 years. Her widower John, her two-year-old grandson Jakob and Symphony Housing Group chief executive Phil Gandy, were among those present at the street sign unveiling.

Ann Louise Gilmore, from Cobalt Housing, said: “Rose was a much loved councillor and it’s a fitting tribute for her to be remembered in this way.”
