The Symphony Housing Group has agreed conditions for one of its member organisations to leave the partnership.
Symphony consists of six housing associations across the North West: Cobalt Housing, Contour Homes, Hyndburn Homes, Liverpool Housing Trust, Peak Valley Housing Association and Ribble Valley Homes.
To strengthen the Group and put us in a better position to deliver our goals, Symphony is simplifying its management and governance. There will be a joint approach to the way we work to improve standards and make services more consistent for all of our customers.
The Board of Cobalt Housing believes it is in the best interest of its tenants for Cobalt to leave the group and de-merger has now been agreed, with both parties working towards a formal separation later this year.
Dr Neil Goodwin, Chair of Symphony Housing Group’s board, said: “For many years our organisations have worked together to provide local services to meet the needs of the diverse neighbourhoods we work in.
Both Symphony and Cobalt remain committed to putting customers first and making sure both organisations are as strong as possible.”
Peter Mitchell, Chair of the Cobalt Housing Board, said: said “The Cobalt Board have worked with Symphony to ensure a positive future for all tenants, and are delighted to have reached an agreement. It shows that by working together that the long term interests of our tenants have been secured. Cobalt is committed to work with our partners to build on our current good performance, to deliver the best possible services to our tenants.”
Bronwen Rapley Chief Executive of Symphony Housing Group said: “Symphony and Cobalt will remain neighbours and partners in the future and will continue to work together to achieve our shared goal of seeing Liverpool and its communities succeed.”
