We would like to say a big thank you to the majority of our Cobalt tenants for continuing to follow the social distancing guidelines. You are continuing to keep our Cobalt community a safe place to live for everyone.
Unfortunately, we have received increase reports from our community members and Merseyside Police of people who are breaking the rules and putting themselves and those around them at risk.
We have been advised that certain individuals are hosting BBQs, parties and inviting friends and family members round who are not part of their household.
How we are enforcing the social distancing rules
Our dedicated ASB team are still investigating reports of anti-social behaviour whilst working remotely at home. This service is available to all our community members and you do not have to be a Cobalt Housing tenant to benefit from the service. Together, we want to make sure that everyone is staying safe and doing their part to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
We will be working with Merseyside Police to try as much as possible to deal with these incidents by speaking to our tenants and reminding them of the current social distancing rules. Failure to abide by these rules are taken very seriously and we would like to remind our tenants that the police have been given new powers to prevent behaviour that puts people’s health at risk.
Cobalt would like to remind tenants that we also have our own powers to prevent this type of behaviour from happening in our communities. Not only are these people putting people’s health at risk, but they are also breaching their tenancy agreement.
If a tenant ignores this guidance and continues to have social gatherings, we will start legal proceedings against them and we have already issued orders to some tenants in our communities.
We want to avoid this as much as possible and we are kindly asking our tenants to please follow the government’s social distancing guidelines. We are all in this together and we can only overcome this illness if we all play our part.
How to report your concerns
If you have any concerns about illegal gatherings taking place in your community please call us as quickly as possibly on 0330 303 2222, or email [email protected].
