Are you worried about money? Everyone has times when money’s tight, but it’s important that you seek support to make sure that you are looking after yourself and your families financially.
Talk Money Week (9th-13th November) encourages people to have more open conversations about their money and pensions and is run by the Money and Pensions service. To get more people talking about money we’ve partnered with local organisations to run five days of money advice and support. Whether you’re a first time tenant looking for support in your first home, or you want to know more about local food bank and pantries in your area, are seeking financial advice as you’re on a low income or are struggling right now and are just wanting someone to talk to; there’s something for all.
We also want to encourage tenants to have conversations with their children about money. To help we’ve with partnered with Positive Footprints and Monksdown School to deliver this initiative to their year 6 pupils, to help them feel more confident talking about money. In the future, we hope to bring this to more of our schools in the area to help encourage more positive conversations about money to children across our areas.
Tenants will be getting our Talk Money Week support back in the post shortly – so make sure you keep an eye out! Included in the pack is advice, support, games and chances for you to win some prizes too. Make sure you’re following us on our social media @CobaltHousing for a week of advice and plenty of chances to win too (even some Christmas goodies!)
What is Talk Money Week?
Held from 9th to the 13th November, Talk Money Week aims to reduce the stigma around money by encouraging conversations among families, friends, neighbours, customers, colleagues and communities. Talking openly about money can have a huge impact on managing money worries, and is important for our overall health and relationships. The impact of Covid-19 has made it more important than ever to start conversations about money to look after our financial wellbeing.
