Boris Johnson has confirmed that England’s roadmap out of COVID-19 lockdown restrictions will proceed on schedule. Therefore, we are now entering Step 3 in the government’s roadmap response. From Monday 17th May:

  • Most legal restrictions on meeting others outdoors will be lifted (gatherings of 30+ people remains illegal)
  • The rule of 6 or 2 households now applies indoors
  • Indoor hospitality and hotels will reopen
  • Outdoor performances such as outdoor cinemas and theatres can reopen
  • Indoor venues with a capacity of 1,000 people or half-full (whichever is lower) allowed
  • Outdoor venues with a capacity of 4,000 people or half-full (whichever is lower) allowed
  • Up to 30 people will be able to attend weddings and receptions. The limit on funerals is now removed.
