The Department for Work and Pensions is writing to people whose tax credits or benefits are ending. If you receive a letter notifying you to move over to Universal Credit, you must do so by the date on the letter or your existing benefits will stop.

If you have a disability benefit with additional premiums, it’s important that you DO NOT move over to Universal Credit until you receive your letter, as you may lose your transitional payment period. If you need any further support once you have received your letter, please contact our welfare team on 0330 303 2222 (option 7).

If you are on standard benefits, you can complete a free and confidential benefits check using Turn2us’ benefits calculator to see if you would be financially better off on Universal Credit. To get started, please click here.
