Giving notice
You can give 28 days’ notice by:
Calling 0330 303 2222
Visiting our office
199 Lower House Lane, Liverpool, L11 2SF.
Reception is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.
Before you move out
Before you move out:
- Please ensure that your rent account is up to date.
- You must leave all fixtures and fittings in the same condition as when you moved in.
- Your garden must be cleared of any rubbish and left tidy.
- We may charge you for any items we have to remove or any damage that you leave.
Once you have provided notice that you intend to leave your home, a Neighbourhood Housing officer will arrange to come to your home to carry out a termination visit. This isn’t a property inspection, and we won’t be entering all rooms in your home.
At this visit we will provide you with some useful information on things you need to do before leaving such as contacting your utility supplier and council tax. We will support you to clear your home before you leave. How we do this will be fully explained during our visit.
Moving out
When you move out, please make sure you take all possessions with you – don’t leave anything in the property unless agreed with Cobalt Housing beforehand.
Hand all keys into reception at 199 Lower House Lane, Liverpool, L11 2SF before 12pm on the last day of your tenancy.
After you have moved
If there are rent arrears on your account when you move out, we will pursue this through our former tenant arrears process. It’s important to note that this could impact your ability to get a social housing tenancy in future.
Please be aware that if your home is left in poor condition due to your damage or neglect, Cobalt does have the right to charge you for the damage and this may affect your future rehousing prospects.
If you have any further questions then please get in touch.
