Our expert Welfare Advice and Tenancy Wellbeing Teams can help with: 

  • Signposting for budgeting and debt advice (including utility debt)
  • Applying for benefits, including Universal Credit, Personal Independence Payments, Disability Living Allowance, etc. You do not need to pay an individual or company to help you apply for benefits – we will do this for you free of charge.
  • Appealing benefit decisions, including sanctions
  • Issuing food and fuel vouchers
  • Grants for rent arrears or essential items in exceptional circumstances  

Since April 2024, we have secured more than £1.1million in additional benefits and grants for Cobalt customers. This was money that our customers were entitled to but were not claiming.

There are lots organisations that offer free, impartial help advice to help you manage your money.

Social tariffs 

If you receive certain benefits, you could receive cheaper broadband and phone packages, meaning you’ll receive the same service as new or existing customers for a lower cost.

Food vouchers

If you are struggling to afford food, we can give you a voucher for a three-day food parcel. There are a number of foodbanks in our neighbourhoods. To find your nearest foodbank and check opening days and times, visit Locations | North Liverpool Foodbank 

Energy bills

If you are struggling to to pay your gas and/or electricity, the best thing to do is contact your supplier. They have to help you find a suitable solution, such as setting a payment plan. We can also support if you need any extra help. Since April 2024, we have issued almost £9,500 in fuel vouchers. If you would like to apply for a fuel voucher, please contact us
