Today is Time to Talk Day!
Time to Talk Day is all about creating supportive communities by having conversations with family, friends, or colleagues about mental health. We all deal with our mental wellbeing differently, but by talking about it we can support ourselves and others. In England, 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem of some kind each year, and 1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem (like anxiety or depression) in any given week.
Therefore, we want to encourage our #Cobaltcommunity to start a conversation with a family member, friend or neighbour about mental health! Today we will also be encouraging all Cobalt staff to start a conversation about mental health with someone, or approach one of our 41 members of staff trained in mental health first aid for a chat. If you are struggling, there are a number of support services you can call including:
- Merseycare – 0800 145 6570 (urgent support for people age 16+)
- Kooth Liverpool – 0151 293 3577 (support for young people age 10-25)
- Samaritans – 116 123
- CALM – 0800 58 58 58
- Mind – 0300 123 3393
Our team are also here to help on 0330 303 2222 if you are struggling with money, rent payments, food, clothing or anything else.
Talking about mental health has the power to save lives, so it’s important that we regularly check in on others by making mental health a common topic of conversation!
If you are concerned about someone you know, you can find lots of useful advice and information over on Samaritans’ website.
