Last Friday, we hosted an action day at the flats on Utting Avenue East.
This event was part of a wider project to tidy up the communal garden area and create a clean, scenic space for residents to enjoy.
The action day was also a great opportunity for our teams to collect feedback from residents to identify key issues and areas of improvement.
Ahead of the event, our Cobalt Plus team cleared rubbish, cut back trees, completed repairs, laid bark and set up a new washing line space to give residents the opportunity to dry their clothes outside.
During the action day, we were joined by children from Croxteth Primary who took part in the litter pick, planting session and enjoyed a performance from local #OurCroxteth ukulele group. As a thank you for their hard work, the children will be attending Goodison Park to watch Everton as part of Everton in the Community’s funded initiative.
We were also joined by Merseyside Police, Brabners Solicitors, Dawn from Karonga Gardens and Yvonne from Cats Protection who spoke to residents, helped set up the communal greenhouse and worked with the children to plant bulbs and flowers.
Thank you to everyone who joined us at Utting Avenue East for the action day. We’d also like to say a big thank you to our contractor, Sure Maintenance, for providing a skip as part of their social value commitments for residents to use free of charge.
