We are delighted to secure planning permission to bring 50 new apartments to Norris Green.

Located on the former Langholme Heights site at the junction of East Lancashire Road and Lower House Lane, the scheme will provide homes for residents over the age of 55 and can accommodate those who have a care or support need.

Claire Griffiths, Chief Executive at Cobalt Housing, said: “We are delighted to secure planning approval for this scheme, bringing much-needed affordable and accessible homes that are well designed and will be appealing to older customers looking to downsize.

“This development is part of our commitment to build 1,000 new homes by 2033 and ensure that our investments contribute to our wider regeneration commitments in our core neighbourhoods.”

The new development will offer communal facilities for residents as well as a charging room for mobility scooters, and outdoor garden areas.  The apartments are designed to adapt to changing needs, which is part of the extra care lite model of housing.

Work will begin early 2025 and is expected to complete in summer 2026.
