As part of our ASB Awareness Week, we’re pleased to recognise and award our Community Heroes, who each received a certificate and a prize in recognition of their fantastic work and achievements within our local neighbourhoods.
๐ฅ *Drumroll* and the winners are…
โ Most Positive Impact with the Environment:
๐Dawn McShane โ For her work as a Project Lead at Karonga Gardens, working with volunteers to clear and develop the site with natural products for planters, to grow healthy produce. Karonga Gardens also has a Forest School to educate school children, who have even been involved in crafts such as creating a mosaic.
๐ Kenneth Lacken โ For keeping his neighbours’ homes looking lovely in Fazakerley. Kenneth cuts their grass, cleans the litter near their homes and always helps any neighbours who may be frail or in need. A world full of Kenneth’s would be a wonderful place!
โ Reduced ASB:
๐ PCSO Andy Mc Carthy โ Andy has worked with our Cobalt teams on Operation Clean Sweep, picking up litter in our communities. He has engaged with younger people in our neighbourhoods and made a big impact on ASB. Andy has also worked with Everton in the Community to provide opportunities for young people and helped members of the community to attend football matches at Goodison Park.
๐ CELLS Team โ For educating young people in our communities about the consequences of breaking the law. CELLS have delivered numerous sessions across our neighbourhoodsโ primary schools, and this continues to have a positive impact on our younger community.
โ Provides support for those in the most vulnerable groups:
๐ Su Carson โ For running the Bridge Centre in Norris Green that holds courses and support groups for those in our communities, especially those with additional or complex needs. Norris Green would not be the same without her support.
๐ Karen Campbell โ Karen runs Croxteth Family Matters and this has a huge impact in Croxteth โ everything from food pantries, to childrenโs activities, choir sessions, and ukulele practice! Karen engages and connects with some of the most vulnerable people in Croxteth, providing them access to valuable support and resources.
๐ Big congratulations once again to our community heroes for all of their efforts to support our local neighbourhoods! ๐
