Our recent Healthy Lifestyle Pit Stop event at the Community Hub was a fantastic success, welcoming 56 attendees for a day of connection, learning and support.

Our residents had the opportunity to:

  • Chat with local partners
  • Receive free health checks, including blood pressure and liver scans
  • Access expert advice on women’s health, dementia care, and overall wellbeing

The event showcased the wide range of wellness support services available in our community, helping residents take positive steps toward healthier, happier lives.

Our customers shared some fantastic feedback with us about the event:

“I had my liver scanned and the staff were friendly and kind, taking the time to explain everything. I had a Hepatitis C check too – which was just a quick finger prick test. I also received information about women’s health and visited the ‘Smoke Free Liverpool’ stand for a friend whose son would like to quit smoking.”

Another said, “Me and my son, who has special educational needs, had a liver scan. I feel much better knowing that our livers are healthy. The day was amazing, we really enjoyed it.”

While yet another customer said, “The liver scan showed that I had fatty liver disease, which I didn’t know about.  I was a bit shocked, but at least I know now, and can do something about it. So glad I had it done.”

The Healthy Lifestyle Pit Stop event was supported by 29 partner organisations and three customer volunteers.

Services included dental care (Tiny Teeth), dementia support (Alzheimer’s Association, Dementia Care Navigators), women’s health (WHISC), smoking cessation (Smoke Free Liverpool), and much more.

Notable outcomes included:

  • 10 women’s health referrals
  • 4 smoking cessation referrals
  • 3 GP referrals
  • 2 breast screening referrals

We’re incredibly grateful to our amazing partners: Liverpool City Council Health and Wellbeing Team, Smoke Free Liverpool, Dementia Alliance, Tiny Teeth, WHISC, Social Prescribers, and Enable You services—your contributions are making a real difference to local residents. We’d also like to give a big thank you to our volunteers for your invaluable support on the day!

Together at this event, we generated £97,493 in social value, creating a lasting impact on the health and wellbeing of people in our communities.
