Our Norris Green neighbourhood team recently hosted a focus group for year 5 and 6 children at Leamington Community Primary School.
Year 5 and 6 discussed what mattered most to them in their communities, key issues and how certain areas could be improved.
Following the focus group, our team launched a competition where the children could highlight a key issue, and draw how it could be resolved.
We’d like to say a huge well done to the children from Leamington Primary for their fantastic entries. We love to see just how creative our #Cobaltcommunity members are, despite how difficult it makes it for our team to choose a winner!
One of our winners, Lottie (Year 6), also wrote the following poem:
We understand that your dog needs the loo,
but once its finished please pick up their poo.
Speeding cars zoom away,
so we are here to save the day.
The bad habit here is throwing our litter,
leaving the scent, oh so bitter.
Suffocating breeze, everlasting trees,
help us save the neighbourhood pretty please!
Put your rubbish in the bin,
it’s the same as putting a biscuit in a tin.
Friendly people is a friendly neighbourhood,
I’m sure you would help us if you could.
If we stop the pollution,
we could make a revolution!
