We’re committed to tackling hate crime and ensuring that everyone feels safe and secure in our communities.
Our Anti Social Behaviour team recently delivered a Hate Crime Awareness Workshop to children and young people at Gems Community Centre in Croxteth. This free 90 minute session talks to children about tolerance, acceptance, and kindness, and allows them to explore the positive impact they can have on their community.
Children were asked to design a poster that challenges hate and Louise Davies, our Executive Director of Communities and Regeneration, and Jill Roberts, our ASB Lead, had the difficult task of picking a winner out of the fantastic entries.
Congratulations to the very talented Year 5 pupil from Leamington Primary, who won a £30 gift voucher!
The Hate Crime Awareness Workshop is being rolled out to primary schools in our communities, including St Teresas, Leamington, Monksdown and Ranworth in Norris Green, along with Croxteth Primary in Croxteth.
Hate Crime workshops have previously been delivered to the Bridge Community Centre, Cobalt staff, Dixons Academy Fazakerley, Dixons Academy Croxteth and the Staff at the Gems Community Centre.
Kate Toutountzi, Cobalt ASB Officer, is setting up an open Hate Crime Awareness workshop to the Fazakerley Federation.
