We’re delighted to announce that Julie Roberts, long-standing Cobalt resident and pillar of the community, has been shortlisted for the prestigious ‘Tenant of the Year’ award at the Northern Housing Awards 2024.
Julie has dedicated more than 30 years to making a difference in the community she lives in. From tackling social isolation and making sure no one goes hungry to reviewing policies and challenging decisions, Julie’s dedication embodies true community leadership and support.
Here are just some of the words of encouragement from people who know and work closely with Julie in and around the Cobalt community:
Hannah Tickle – Rooting for you: Julie is a huge corner stone for the community, not only with her work within Cobalt. Julie also works tirelessly with other organisations such as Norris Green Community Alliance, to support and protect members of her community. Julie is always helping someone. She lives and breathes supporting others and her passions is there for all to see, Julie really is a true inspiration.”
And what better place to tell Julie the good news than at Brekkie and Brew Friday, a community initiative set up by Julie and her husband Dave.
On hearing the news, Julie said: “This is all about teamwork and I wouldn’t be able to do it without Dave. Cobalt encouraged me to get involved and gave me opportunities I never thought I’d have.”
The winner will be announced on 23rd May 2024 at an awards ceremony in Manchester.
Good Luck Julie.
