As we celebrate National Careers Week (2nd – 7th March) we’re proud to be supporting Discover Housing  a national campaign led by Positive Footprints that aims to inspire 10,000 children to see a future in housing.

The campaign brings together 100 housing partners and 100 primary schools, helping children connect with the people and roles that shape their neighbourhoods. It builds on Positive Footprints’ proven work in aspiration‑led learning, which supported more than 11,500 children last year and generated significant social value across the UK.

We believe every child should feel able to dream big. By introducing young people to the variety of careers in housing, we can help them grow in confidence and see new possibilities for their future.

Our team recently attended Monksdown Primary School in Norris Green, giving more than 120 pupils the chance to hear real stories, ask real questions and take part in activities to help them imagine what’s possible. Through fun activity sessions, pupils discovered the skills, qualifications and day-to-day responsibilities of working in housing.

We’re excited to inspire young people in our communities to discover the world of work and the fantastic opportunities a career in housing can offer.

Our CEO, Claire Griffiths, said:
“We’ve worked with Positive Footprints for over five years and have seen the difference it makes to children’s confidence and aspirations. We’re proud of everything they’ve achieved.”

Children start forming ideas about jobs at a young age, often shaped by what they see around them. Discover Housing helps broaden those horizons by showing the human side of our sector and highlighting the people who help create safe, thriving places to live.

Positive Footprints’ work goes far beyond careers – it’s about raising aspiration, building self‑belief, and strengthening communities. A safe, warm home is the foundation for a good life, and the people who work in housing play a vital role in making that possible.

We’re excited to be part of this journey. Together, we can help children discover their strengths and see housing as a sector where they can make a real difference.
