We were delighted to welcome 65 customers to our recent Christmas Market and community health event at the La Salle Hotel School, for a day filled with festive fun, local shopping, and wellbeing support.

Eight amazing stallholders showcased beautiful handmade gifts, including jewellery, candles, Christmas cards, sweets, and macramé.

In response to our Big Listen findings, we teamed up with various health partners to offer vital support for customers with long-term health conditions or disabilities.

Highlights from the day included:

  • The LiveWell Bus: 15 customers received flu and COVID vaccinations, plus full health checks.
  • Brekkie & Brew Friday: Our customers received a warm breakfast and a friendly chat, to keep away winter isolation.
  • Free Boccia session: Locals engaged in bowls, an inclusive game that promotes physical health and community spirit.
  • Expert advice: From Smoke Free Liverpool, Bambis breastfeeding support, and more.

The impact:

The event made a big difference for our community – boosting health, wellbeing, and supporting local businesses.

We worked with eight fantastic local businesses, who not only showcased their products but also generously donated raffle prizes. A huge thank you to the six amazing volunteers whose hard work helped make the day such a success!

Sixteen of our community members also enjoyed a free session of Boccia, helping to improve both physical health and community cohesion.

Community Hub Lead Rona Heron said:

“It was a brilliant day – we supported local businesses, raised money for the grotto, and made sure vulnerable customers got their flu and COVID jabs before winter.”

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, and contributed at the event. Together, we’re helping our communities thrive!

Don’t miss our next event: The Christmas Grotto at Fazakerley Federation on Tuesday 16th December, 3pm – 6.30pm. If you’d like to volunteer, please get in touch by emailing: [email protected].
