We’re delighted to announce that our partnership with Ecogee has been named Regional Large-Scale Project of the Year (>£250k) at the North West Energy Efficiency Awards 2025.

This recognition celebrates the success of our £2.7 million energy efficiency scheme, which has delivered upgrades to more than 270 homes across our communities – making them warmer, more energy efficient, and better prepared for a low-carbon future.

Delivered as part of the second wave of our Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) programme, the project has enabled all eligible homes to reach an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of C or above.

Works, delivered by Ecogee, included the installation of external wall and loft insulation, solar panels, and smart heating controls.

Ian Hancock, Executive Director of Property at Cobalt Housing, commented:

“Over the coming years, we will invest more than £100 million into improving our homes. By 2030, we are committed to ensuring that 100% of our properties achieve EPC Band C.

Ecogee’s professionalism, customer-focused approach, and deep understanding of the social housing sector have been instrumental in the successful delivery of this project. Together, we are reducing carbon emissions, lowering energy bills, and creating more comfortable living environments for our residents.”

This recognition highlights our ongoing commitment to sustainability, innovation, the wellbeing of our customers and the power of strong partnerships to drive positive change.
