Our Croxteth community clean-up day was a fantastic success, bringing together our Neighbourhoods team, Liverpool City Council (LCC), local partners and young volunteers to make a real difference to our neighbourhood.
Pupils from Our Lady’s and St Swithins RC Primary School took part, arriving armed with their own litter pickers and ready to help tidy up the local area. Their energy and commitment were inspiring, and they quickly filled multiple bags of rubbish throughout the day.
Six skips were provided for residents thanks to the combined funding of our Neighbourhood team and Liverpool City Council. This allowed households to clear out unwanted items and get their gardens ‘summer ready’.
Neighbourhood officers were on hand to speak with customers and to carry out essential visits. All six skips were filled to the brim by the end of the day – a great reflection of the community effort and pride shown by everyone involved.
Local residents were also reminded to dispose of unwanted items responsibly and avoid littering. Liverpool City Council offers a free bulky waste removal service for large household furniture items and can be contacted on 0151 233 3000.
The clean-up event was a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when our communities come together to take pride in their neighbourhoods.
