A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our recent Community Clean-Up Day around the Scargreen Avenue shops in Norris Green.
We worked with customers, partners and volunteers to make a real difference to the local area. Special thanks to the Liverpool City Council and to Cobalt Housing Property Services for helping the day run smoothly and safely.
A particular highlight was the fantastic effort of Year 6 pupils from St Teresa of Lisieux Catholic Primary Academy, who collected more than six bags of litter across Norris Green. We’re also grateful to Doweys for kindly providing treats for the children in recognition of their hard work.
Thank you as well to our Norris Green colleagues, the Anti-Social Behaviour team, local policing teams and to our CEO Claire Griffiths for getting involved and supporting the event.
Alongside the clean-up, we spoke to customers and gathered feedback about the area. It was encouraging to hear that many people are happy living in Norris Green and generally feel safe. However, concerns were raised about drug and alcohol misuse, litter and fly-tipping around the Scargreen Shops area.
We will continue working with residents and partners to address these concerns, including exploring options such as a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) for the area.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the day a success. Together, we’re helping to clean up our neighbourhoods and support our communities to thrive.
