We’re committed to finding smarter, more sustainable ways of working, so we’re delighted to announce the arrival of our first electric vehicle (EV), marking an important milestone in our journey towards a greener future.
Our new electric cage tipper will be on the road from Wednesday 5 August 2026, supporting our teams as they deliver services across our communities while helping to reduce our environmental impact.
The introduction of our first EV is part of our wider commitment to sustainability and reducing the environmental footprint of our operations. By moving to electric vehicles, we’re taking practical steps to support our long-term environmental ambitions while continuing to provide a high-quality service for our customers.
This isn’t a one-off investment – the vehicle forms part of a wider fleet replacement and sustainability programme.

As the first EV to join our fleet, the new vehicle will provide valuable information into how electric technology can support our day-to-day services. Over the coming months, we’ll gather data to better understand the benefits it can deliver and help inform future investment decisions.
