We have unfortunately been made aware of a number of incidents in our neighbourhoods where residents have been stopped outside their homes by scammers asking for payment for green bin collections.

Liverpool City Council have recently introduced an annual fee for the collection of household green waste. Please note this is an opt-in service and Liverpool City Council will not ring you, knock on your door or stop you outside your home for payment.

If you would like to pay for this service, please click here to visit Liverpool City Council’s website.

If you are struggling financially and cannot afford the annual fee, Liverpool City Council may be able to support you with this through the Liverpool Citizens Support Scheme. You can call the team on 0800 456 1523 or 0151 233 3053 Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm.

Please share this information with your neighbours, family and friends.
