Electrical works

Electrical improvements help make sure your home is safe, reliable and meets current standards. In some cases, this may involve electrical re-wiring works to upgrade or repair existing installations.

Before any work begins, we’ll carry out a survey of your home to understand what electrical improvements are needed. Depending on the findings, this could include:

• Re-wiring individual rooms
• Re-wiring the entire property
• Replacing the main distribution board
• Replacing plug sockets and power outlets

In some homes, we may need to arrange an asbestos survey before work starts. If this is required, we’ll let you know in advance and explain what to expect. If asbestos is identified, it will be safely removed before any work begins to help keep you and your home safe.

Disruption

Electrical works can be disruptive, as our electricians may need to access walls and floors to install new wiring. We’ll always aim to keep disruption to a minimum and will explain what will happen before work begins, so you know what to expect.

After the work is complete, any decorating needed will be discussed with your Project Surveyor or Project Co-ordinator. Depending on the work carried out, we may provide a decorating allowance or arrange for affected areas to be redecorated. Where we complete the decorating, this will be finished using standard white or magnolia paint.

Time

Electrical improvement and re-wiring works can take up to five working days to complete, depending on the scale and complexity of the work required.
