We’re investing in energy efficiency improvements to help make our homes warmer, more comfortable and more affordable to live in.

These improvements are designed to reduce heat loss, improve the energy performance of your home and lower carbon emissions. They can also help reduce energy bills and create a healthier, more comfortable living environment all year round.

Every home is different, so the improvements we carry out will depend on the age, construction and condition of your property. Before any work begins, we’ll carry out surveys to identify which measures are most suitable for your home.

Depending on the results of the survey, improvements could include:

  • Loft insulation
  • Cavity wall insulation
  • External wall insulation
  • Improved ventilation
  • Solar photovoltaic (PV) panels
  • Air source heat pumps
  • Other energy-saving improvements that help improve your home’s energy efficiency

In some homes, we may also need to carry out an asbestos survey before work starts. If this is required, we’ll let you know in advance and explain what to expect. If asbestos is identified, it will be safely removed before any work begins to help keep you and your home safe.

Disruption

The level of disruption will depend on the type of improvements being carried out. Some works can be completed quickly, while others may take longer or require access to different parts of your home.

Before work begins, we’ll explain exactly what will happen, how long the work is expected to take and whether there is anything you need to do beforehand. We’ll keep you informed throughout the process and do everything we can to minimise disruption.

Time

The timescale will depend on the type of energy efficiency improvements being installed. We’ll let you know how long the work is expected to take before your installation begins.
