Structural improvements help keep your home safe, secure and in good condition. These works can include repairs to walls, replacing lintels above windows and resolving issues such as subsidence.
The work needed will depend on the findings of an assessment carried out at your home. In some cases, we may need to arrange for a specialist surveyor to visit so we can fully understand the work required before appointing a contractor. If this is needed, we’ll contact you to arrange a suitable appointment.
On rare occasions, the work may mean you need to temporarily move out of your home while improvements are completed. If this is required, we’ll talk this through with you in advance, explain the process clearly and work with you to agree the best plan before any work begins.
We may also need to arrange an asbestos survey before work starts. If this is required, we’ll let you know in advance and explain what to expect. If asbestos is identified, it will be safely removed before any work begins to help keep you and your home safe.
Disruption
The level of disruption will depend on the type and extent of the improvements needed. Before work begins, we’ll explain what will happen, what you can expect and how long it is likely to take. We’ll keep you updated throughout the process and support you at every stage.
Time
Most structural improvement works are completed within three weeks, although timescales can vary depending on the work required.
